How To Build A Relationship With Your Provider That Saves Your Life is both a movement and a consulting & speaking brand, delivering resources, evidence, and programs for patients, healthcare practices, organizations, and educational institutions.

Dr. LaToya McCurdy, DNP, FNP-BC
Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner | Healthcare Innovator | CEO | Keynote Speaker | Author

With over a decade of experience in primary care, preventive medicine, and chronic disease management, Dr. LaToya McCurdy has dedicated her career to helping patients take control of their health. Known affectionately as “Your Favorite NP,” Dr. McCurdy blends clinical expertise with compassionate communication — a combination that has helped thousands of patients improve their quality of life. Now, she’s taking her mission beyond the walls of the clinic to change how healthcare works for patients and providers everywhere. A Rocky Mount native, Dr. McCurdy attended Rocky Mount High School and Nash Community College as a dual-enrolled high school student. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Nash Community College. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Chamberlain College, a Master of Science in Nursing in Family Nurse Practice from George Washington University and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from East Carolina University. She is an entrepreneur, mentor, public speaker, and published author. Dr. McCurdy practices family medicine at NEWH Regional Medical Center. She opened the practice in 2022 providing primary care services for patients ages seven years and older in Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, and Halifax (NEWH) counties. She also owns NUTRADRiP IV Hydration and Wellness Clinic, an IV hydration, wellness, and medical aesthetics practice in Rocky Mount. In 2022, Dr. McCurdy joined NC Wesleyan University’s adjunct faculty for the opportunity to shape the minds of healthcare’s future leaders through education. Her prior career experience includes primary care, family and internal medicine, acute care, long-term acute care, pulmonary critical care and long-term care practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Eastern NC Medical Group. In her role, she was recognized by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners for her contributions, dedication and commitment to the nursing profession during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. McCurdy provided written works in the nationally published health and wellness magazine, The Color of Wellness. She’s also co-authored a graduate nursing textbook entitled, The Intersection of Social Justice in Nursing. She is an advocate for increasing access to quality care, patient education, and increasing health literacy throughout the community. As a leader in healthcare, she was selected to join UNC Chapel Hill School of Medicine’s Clinical Leadership Academy in 2022. Dr. McCurdy was named Nash Community College 2023 Outstanding Alumna and also received the honor of delivering Nash Community College’s Spring 2023 Commencement Address. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Nash Community College Foundation and Communities In Schools. Dr. McCurdy is the founder of JAMCHA Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to improving health and wellness in underserved communities in NC and beyond. She is also a member of the Medical Staff Philanthropic Society at UNC Health Nash. In 2024, Dr. McCurdy’s entrepreneurial endeavors gained national recognition and she was selected to attend the The Bank of America Institute for Women’s Entrepreneurship at the prestigious Cornell University. This year, Dr. McCurdy received national recognition from U.S. Congressman Don Davis for her contributions to health and wellness and the positive impact made in eastern NC. In her leisure, she enjoys reading and spending time with her children and family.
